Ivana graduated in molecular biology at University of Belgrade in 2006. The following year she has been awarded with an ERS (Early Stage Researcher) grant from the EC that has allowed her to join the PhD program in Molecular biology of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata". During her PhD Ivana has worked at the National institute for infectious diseases and Policlinic "Gemelli" in Rome. She has later continued her postdoctoral research experience as a Marie Curie awarded (experienced researcher) at Laboratory for genetics of vascular diseases at INSERM, Paris. Ivana has 5 years of experience in the lab, working with transgenic mouse models and screening in human primary cell cultures.

Ivana has recently joined as senior staff scientist ATR where she is in charge of the screening of marine compounds provided by the Special partners with the aim to identify potential candidates with pro- and anti- senescent properties and find possible application as anti - tumor and anti-aging therapies.
