A SPECIAL Kick-Off!!!

Prof. Rui L. Reis, coordinator of project SPECIAL, received the George Winter Award 2011 at the 24^th European Conference on Biomaterials - the Annual Conference of the European Society for Biomaterials - which was held in Dublin on 4-8 September 2011. The award is established to recognise, encourage and stimulate outstanding research contributions to the field of biomaterials. The awardee must have contributed significantly to the knowledge in the field of biomaterials and/or the material controlled or influenced reactions within the host body through basic, experimental and/or clinical research.
