EC blueprint for IPR

The Commission has released a "blueprint" for Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) to boost creativity and innovation. IPR, which comprise patents, trademarks, designs and geographical indications, as well as copyrights and associated rights, have been around for centuries. But technological evolution and the growing importance of online activities have changed the world in which IPR operate. The existing mix of European and national rules need to be modernised, too. This is why the Commission has adopted a comprehensive strategy to revamp the legal framework of IPR. More information may be found here.
