3rd Marine Board ForumBrussels 18 April 2012Organised by the European Science Foundation (ESF), the 3rd Forum is designed to examine emerging or future "Blue Technologies". In this case, blue technologies are those technologies which will either be used in, or drawn from, the seas and oceans and which should have the potential to make a step-changing contribution to science and society. The Forum will be visionary in its approach and is designed to raise the profile among scientists, research funders and policymakers of: what blue technologies we can expect in the future; what impacts they might have on science and/or society; what support is necessary to fast-track their development. The Forum will feature case studies and "flash" presentations - to showcase developing or future technologies which may have a significant scientific or societal impact.
